The Catholic Education Foundation provides children in need with scholarships to attend Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. The Foundation has awarded over $8 million in scholarships by investing almost $1 million back into Catholic education each year to our most struggling families. CEF believes that ALL children who seek a Catholic education, one that offers both quality and faith, should be given the opportunity in the name of Jesus. By helping these children, and their families, we are making their dreams a reality.
Within the Archdiocese of KCK there are 38 elementary schools and 6 high schools residing in 29 different public school districts. These schools serve approximately 16,000 students. Last year, schools in the Archdiocese earned 253 Standards of Excellence from the Kansas State Department of Education. Twenty-seven schools have Learning Centers to support students with special needs ranging from learning challenges to giftedness.
The median household income in the parishes varies drastically. CEF attempts to provide a level playing field for less fortunate families.
CEF reaches these students in need as the schools themselves are not able to provide that luxury. Approximately 80% of each school’s budget supports salaries and benefits, which allows them to provide excellent educators that make a difference in the children’s lives.
